Etherium – boring game to play

Etherium is a RTS product of Tindalos Interactive studio, previously largely responsible only for another little game called Stellar Impact. I can’t say that this is a tittle that redefines the genre in any way that pushes forward its concepts, but it has some good ideas and even a capable AI, a thing that you rarely see in regular games.

The game looks pretty good, I can’t complain, nor can say that it has some surprises. It has some nice atmospheric effects such as dust storms and snow and successful electronic music.

In Etherium you will control three factions, three stellar empires that fight for the control of the galaxy and for a resource from which the game takes its name, which manifests essentially in the form of eggs left behind by a trans-dimensional race that excels in tentacles. This entity is felt more in the campaign, not in the skirmish mode. However, it is not very important. The three factions are sufficient different, having units which are becoming increasingly different in the technology tree - register for all gaming campaigns.

The three faction have their own identity, I am happy about this thing, just as I am glad that the environments have their own identity. Every planet that you fight on has and atmospheric/geologic effect that will trigger periodically, ranging from sand storm, blizzards, volcanoes or electromagnetic storms. Their effects can be severe on the environment, particularly because of the way the maps are build. Each battlefield is divided into zones, often choked points formed by mountains, volcanoes and lakes.

You don’t have many individual building in Etherium. You have the one that you start with, you can build new ones once you advance in level, and then after you advance you will get superior efficiency for extracting or passive repair for your buildings.

I really want to say you more about this game, but I really can’t because this is all this games has to offer you. Unfortunately, Etherium is not a top game, is pretty boring and I can’t say that I recommend it to you.
